Lyons Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at Lyons Cemetery in Greenwood, Johnson County, Indiana.  This cemetery is also known as Darrell Cemetery and Dorrell Cemetery.

GPS Coordinates: 39.63020, -86.14600

This cemetery was kind of a shock to find as I have driven down Fry Road between SR135 and SR31 for many, many years and I never knew that this cemetery was there.  Within the last few years, someone had purchased the land where this cemetery is located  to start building homes.  This time, when we were on the way to visit Crown Hill in Indianapolis, I happen to look down the road where these homes are being built and just saw it.  It's located down a road called J. McCool Ct (listed as Fry Road on Google Maps) and has been lovingly restored fairly recently.

It is inactive and has 96 known burials with dates ranging from the early 18030s to the early 1900s.
