Lanam Ridge Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at Lanam Ridge Cemetery in Brown County, Indiana.  It is located just off of Lanam Ridge Road near Yellowwood State Forest.

We visited this cemetery on September 20, 2015.  It was a little hard to find as it is up a short gravel drive on a hill.  It's much easier to see in the fall and winter.  I am not sure when this cemetery was established but I do know that it is also known as the Neal Brown Cemetery.

UPDATE:  This cemetery was established in 1843 and has had a lot of work done recently.  There is a Facebook page for The Friends of Lanam Ridge Cemetery.  Check it out here to see the work that has been done.

I have to wonder if there wasn't some sort of accident that makes it so they all have the same death date.  But so far, I haven't been able to find out any information.

UPDATE:  Please refer to this article about the deaths of the Brown Family.  It is listed as one of Brown County's Unsolved Murders.  You can read about the coroner's inquest into the deaths here.
