Zion Church Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at Zion Church Cemetery in Brown County, Indiana.  It is also known as Hamblen Township Mount Zion Cemetery.

We stopped by this small cemetery on September 6, 2015.  It was a hot and humid day and that gnats and aphids were out in force.  We managed to get through the entire cemetery of approximately 94 interments, but had to leave rather quickly because of the insects.  The Zion Church that sits out front of the small cemetery is in a shambles with holes in the roof and a partially collapsed chimney.  As a side note, the road leading to the cemetery was in VERY BAD condition the day that we went.  The county uses a process called chip and seal to prepare the roads for full paving.  Unfortunately, sometimes they get left this way and the roads are like driving on a washboard.  Please drive slowly and carefully if visiting the cemetery.
