Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is a re-visit to White Oak Cemetery in Bloomington, Indiana. We stopped by on April 3, 2016 while the weather was nice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Born: 1825, Johnson County, Indiana
Died: August 8, 1860
The inscription on his headstone shows that he was a minister in the Associate Reformed Church.
There are several Campbell's buried in this cemetery, though I am not sure of the relationship.
Now we stop at the grave of Corporal William J. Craig.
Born: 1840, Indiana
Died: May 14, 1864, Resaca, Gordon County, Georgia
He was the son of James Craig (?-?) and Jane Craig (1812-1901). I am unsure as to where he is buried. She is shown as being buried in Garnett Cemetery in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas. They were both born in Ireland.
He had several siblings:
Susan Craig (?-?) - buried in White Oak Cemetery, Bloomington, Indiana.
Isabella Craig (1837-1868) - buried in White Oak Cemetery, Bloomington, Indiana.
James M. Craig (1846-1911) - buried in Garnett Cemetery, Anderson County, Kansas. (as a note of interest, it is possible that this man was robbed and pushed from a train, killing him when he drowned in the river.)
Theophilas T. Craig (1849-1854) - buried in White Oak Cemetery, Bloomington, Indiana. (pictured right)
Anna E. Craig Shields (1855-1932) - buried in Garnett Cemetery, Anderson County, Kansas.
