Potato Run Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at Potato Run Cemetery in O'Bannon Woods State Park in Harrison County, Indiana.  The Cemetery is also known as Old Brown Cemetery.

We visited this Cemetery on our trip to the Pioneer Festival at O'Bannon Woods State Park on May 23, 2015.  I had no idea that there were cemeteries in the State Park on the day that we went and stumbled across this one quite by accident.  As it turns out, there were three cemeteries in the park, but we only stopped at this one.  There is a small, white church located just next to the cemetery which was established in 1886, though there was most likely a church there as early as 1876.

There is a hand with the finger pointing up on her headstone.  This symbolizes that she has gone home.

These graves were all either too worn to read or had suffered too much damage over the years.  I have tried to make out what they say and cross reference them in my research, but have had no luck so far.
