New Allen's Creek Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at the Old Allen's Creek Cemetery, though I believe that this cemetery shown may actually be a different one.

UPDATE!!  This is actually the NEW Allen's Creek Cemetery.  The Old Allen's Creek Cemetery is nearby in the woods and I have not visited yet.

The Old Allen's Creek Cemetery is said to be overgrown and missing several stones.  My GPS showed me that the coordinates led off into the woods in an area that I could not enter.  We found this one just before it, very near to the coordinates given.  This one obviously does not fit the physical description and seems to be much newer.  I didn't get to take many pictures the day that we were there, June 10, 2015, for two reasons: First, most of the stones were newer and, second, there was a very large dog at the trailer across the road that kept antagonizing us and scaring my daughter.

This is the grave of Henry H. Eads.

Born: September 14, 1854
Died: December 10, 1929

He was married to Samantha Smith Eads (1854-1916).  She is buried at Old Allen's Creek Cemetery.

They had several children together:
James M. Eads (1880-1966) - buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Oscar Wall Eads (1882-1969) - buried in Valhalla Memory Gardens, Monroe County, Indiana.
Wiley Wilson Eads (1884-1970) - buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Sarah Alice Eads Sowders (1886-1977) - buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.

He has an open book, which generally symbolizes a person's faith, carved into the top of his headstone.  This book is flanked by two beautifully carved seashells.
