Rogers-Fee Lane Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at the Rogers-Fee Lane Cemetery in Bloomington, Indiana.  It is located on the campus of Indiana University in front of Foster Quad.

We visited this cemetery on a quiet June 06, 2015.  The campus was empty with all of the students gone so we didn't have to worry about the parking issues.  This cemetery is surrounded by a lovely stone wall and is well tended.  Some of the stones could use some attention as they are broken or worn.  I am unsure of the history of this particular cemetery.

Love your blog. This is a cemetery with some of my family members. Malinda J Rogers is the daughter of Henry Rogers (1814-1876) and Jane Rogers (Ward) (1814-1899), both are buried in Rose Hill. I thought I'd fully canvased these headstone; however, I didn't have Norina L Rogers (1823-1897), buried in Rose Hill. I do have Maria Louisa Rogers (1823-1897) with the same parents, also buried in Rose Hill. Has to be the same person? In the census records she shows up sometimes as Maria L and sometimes as Louisa, never as Norina, except in the obituary captured in the Findagrave record, which would seem to duplicate the one I added for Maria Louisa, which is the name carved on the tombstone. I love these little genealogical conundrums, which I never would have found but for your blog!

Thank you very much for the information!! I will be updating the above with said information. I did find a mention of a Maria Louise Rogers buried in Rose Hill Cemetery as well. She is buried with Louise Cookerly (1873-1896). I am not sure if they are the same person or not. It's a mystery. I may get to Rose Hill soon and see if I can find a headstone for her.

This is one of the main reasons why I have been working on this blog. I love to be able to reach out to people and let them know that there family is not forgotten. If you have any other information that may be relevant, please let me know.
