Knights of Pythias Cemetery Re-Visit

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is a re-visit to Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Smithville, Indiana.  It is located on Strain Ridge Road just behind the Bethel Apostolic Church.

I stopped back by this cemetery on September 19, 2015 to snap a few photos for fun.  I realized that there were several more graves that we missed on the first trip in January.  Some of these pictures posted today may be re-posts of the first trip but I don't want to miss any information, so I am going to go ahead and list them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our first stop today is at the grave of Allen Grimes.
Born: 1821, Monroe County, Indiana
Died: 1826, Monroe County, Indiana
He was the son of Thomas Grimes (1788-1854) and Nancy Woodward Grimes (1791-1866).  They are both buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
I noticed that his mother was buried with one of his sisters instead of sharing a headstone with his father.
He had many siblings:
John Grimes (1817-1899) - buried in Grimes Cemetery, Lucas County, Iowa
Mary Grimes (1818-1881) - buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Sarah Grimes Taylor (1820-1895) - buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Perlina Grimes Perry (1825-1906) - buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Emily Grimes Whisenand (1827-1911) - buried in Chariton Cemetery, Lucas County, Iowa.
Ervin Grimes (1828-1910) - buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Fanny Grimes (1833-1851) - buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Martha Grimes (1836-1850) - buried in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Here is the grave of Thomas Grimes.
Born: 1832
Died: 1851
I am not sure what relation he is to the Grimes listed above, but he is in the same line of headstones as the rest of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This headstones states GRIMES at the bottom, but it is very worn and lichen covered.  I have no further information about this headstone.  I can't find anything that matches it in the interment records for this cemetery, though I have noticed that they are not very complete.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here we have the grave of Kat McCormick.
Born: unknown
Died: unknown
She was the daughter of T.J. McCormick (?-?) and M. McCormick (?-?).  There is a grave for Thomas McCormick nearby, so that may be her father, but I did notice upon looking at the interment records, that there is no mention of any McCormick's in this cemetery, though I have found three McCormick headstones.  I am not sure if there was a reason for this or just oversight on someone's part.
I have the birth and death dates marked as unknown because I can not read the headstone.
Her name may also actually be Kate, but there is some wear and I can't read it fully.
Here we have the grave of Thomas McCormick.
Born: unknown
Died: unknown
I am not sure if this is the father of the above listed McCormick or not.  The headstone is hard to read, so I am not sure of the birth or death dates.
She was married twice.  Her first husband was Anderson Nelson (1816-1882).  They were married on March 23, 1840 in Monroe County, Indiana, but were divorced at some point before 1848.  He was buried in LaMonte Cemetery in LaMonte, Pettis County, Missouri.
They had one child:
Nancy Jane Nelson Sparks (1841-1897) - buried in Burch Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
They had one child:
James Matthew Rogers (1849-1919) - buried in Hughes Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana (this cemetery is listed as being Defunct.  These graves were moved when the Lake Monroe project was started in 1964.  It says that they were moved to the Polk Township Cemetery, though I am not sure what the actual name of the cemetery is.)
