Mount Zion Cemetery

Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is at Mount Zion Cemetery in Morgan County, Indiana.

We visited this cemetery on October 9, 2015.  It is located on East Mahalasville Road next to Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church.  There are just under 500 interments at this cemetery and I believe that it is still in use as there were many newer graves here.  It is well taken care.  I am not sure as to when this cemetery or church was established as I didn't see any signs the day that we were there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our first stop is at the grave of Jeremiah Bishir, Jr.
Born: January 12, 1835
Died: January 13, 1909
He was the son of Jeremiah M. Bishir, Sr. (1800-1875) and Hester Millet Bishir (1803-1843).  He was buried in Kenton Cemetery in Monticello, White County, Indiana.  Unfortunately, this cemetery was destroyed in the 1930s. The headstone was destroyed.  I am unsure as to where she is buried.
He had many siblings:
Her parents were Richard Worthington (1792-1867) and Mary A.
