Today's Walk Through the Tombstones is a Re-Visit to Mount Gilead Cemetery in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.
Our first stop is at the grave of James S. Adams.
Born: March 26, 1832
Died: February 24, 1864
He had at least one child:
Robert W. Adams (?-1864) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
I have no further information about his family.

Here we have the grave of William L. Adams.

Died: September 10, 1914
He was married to Elizabeth A. Adams (1829-1897). Her name is listed below his on the headstone.
They had several children:
Sallie Adams Skirvin (1855-1913) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Amanda Elizabeth Adams Wycoff (1860-1936) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Maggie B. Adams (1865-1884) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Della E. Adams Gray (1868-1946) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.

Here we have the grave of Ruth Clendenen Armstrong.
Born: unknown
Died: June 10, 1876, Monroe County, Indiana
She was the daughter of Josiah Clendenen (1775-1854) and Esther Nancy Livingston Clendenen (1769-?). He is buried in MacKenzie Cemetery in Morgan County, Indiana, though it is unknown as to whether or not she is buried next him.
She had at least two siblings:
Charles H. Clendenen (1813-1904) - buried in Simpson Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Mary Clendenen Bailey (1814-1864) - buried in Thompson Cemetery, Morgan County, Indiana.
She was married to John Armstrong (1799-1890) on March 1, 1827. He is buried next to her in Mount Gilead Cemetery.
They had three children:
John M. Armstrong (1827-1899) - buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Rebecca Armstrong (1831-1902) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Martha Armstrong (1837-1900) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.

We now stop at the grave of Martha Goodman.

Died: September 20, 1880, Unionville, Monroe County, Indiana
There are many Goodman's buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, but I am not sure which ones, if any, are her relations.

This is the grave of John A. McBride.
Born: 1845
Died: October 28, 1865
He mustered into the 50th Indiana Infantry, Company D on August 28, 1861. He was transferred to the 52nd Regiment on April 30, 1864 as a Corporal. He was listed as being a Veteran. He is listed in the 52nd Infantry Re-Organized as a Private in Company E. He mustered into this regiment on March 2, 1864 and mustered out on September 10, 1865. He appears to have died not long after he got home.

This is the grave of Henderson Allen Myers.
Born: January 28, 1814, Cumberland County, Kentucky
Died: March 22, 1876, Monroe County, Indiana
He was married twice. His first wife was named Minerva Coatney Myers (?-1859). They were buried on April 28, 1838 in Monroe County, Indiana. I am not sure exactly where she is buried as it is listed as unknown, though there is an image of her headstone available. She may be buried near him in Mount Gilead, but I would have to go back and take a look.
They had three children:
Milton Myers (1840-1905) - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
Samuel Myers (?-?) -
Jasper Newton Myers (?-?) -
His second wife was Rachel Hensley Myers (1813-1891). They were married on April 22, 1860 in Monroe County, Indiana. She is buried in the Richardson/Brummetts Creek Cemetery in Monroe County. It does not appear that they had an children.

Here we have the Owens monument.
There are two Owens' buried in Mount Gilead cemetery, but I am not sure if this is for them or not as the images for the graves are of small, metal plaques. This may have been erected in between them. I will have to go back and take a look.

Our final stop on our Re-Visit is at the grave of Lorena Wycoff.

Died: April 21, 1875
She was the wife of Samuel C. Wycoff (?-?). I am not sure where he is buried.
